Texture Coating, Adelaide
Texture coating is the smart refresh — a coloured-through, acrylic-based textured finish that hides imperfections and gives an existing home a clean, modern look without re-rendering from scratch.
Refresh, not re-render
Not every wall needs a full re-render. If the existing render or paintwork is sound but tired, a texture coating goes straight over the top — covering blemishes, evening out the surface, and resetting the colour in one go. It’s faster and easier on the budget than stripping back to brick.
Textures and colour
Texture coatings come in a range of grades — from a fine sand finish through to a coarser roll-on texture — so you can dial in anything from a subtle tooth to a pronounced, hard-wearing texture that shrugs off knocks and hides more.
Like acrylic render, texture coatings are coloured-through, so there’s no separate paint coat and no repaint on the horizon. There’s a wide colour range to pick from.
Where it works
Texture coating suits existing rendered walls, sound painted surfaces and many brick or masonry walls once they’re prepared. It’s a popular way to modernise a house exterior and to unify a mix of surfaces under one clean, coloured finish.
- Fine, medium and coarse textures
- Coloured-through — no separate painting needed
- Hides imperfections and evens out tired walls
- Refreshes existing render, paint or masonry
- Wide colour palette
Refreshing tired exteriors, hiding surface imperfections, and modernising a home without a full re-render.
Texture Coating — your questions
What’s the difference between texture coating and render?
Render builds the wall’s surface up (often over brick or sheeting); texture coating is a thinner coloured-through coating that goes over an existing sound surface to refresh it and add texture. Texture coating is usually the quicker, lower-cost way to modernise walls that don’t need a full re-render.
Do you need to paint texture coating?
No — texture coatings are coloured all the way through, so there’s no separate paint coat.
Can you texture coat over painted walls?
In most cases yes, provided the existing paint is sound and properly prepared. Dino checks the surface first so the coating bonds and lasts.
