What does rendering cost in Adelaide?

The honest answer is that no two rendering jobs cost the same — the price depends on the wall, the finish and the access. Here’s exactly what goes into it, so you know what you’re paying for before you get a quote.

How rendering is priced

Most rendering is quoted by the square metre of wall, then adjusted for the things that make one job harder than another — prep, access, the finish and any repairs. That’s why a genuine price comes from measuring the actual walls, not from a number off a website.

We don’t publish a fixed price list, because it would be misleading — the same square metre of wall can be a quick job or a slow one depending on what’s underneath and how you get to it. What we do give you is a free, accurate written quote after a look at the job, with no obligation.

What drives the price

Wall area

Rendering is generally priced by the square metre of wall, so the biggest single factor is simply how much wall there is. A full house is a bigger job than a single feature wall.

Substrate & prep

Brick, blueboard, Hebel and foam each need different preparation and coats. Painted or damaged surfaces need extra prep before render will bond, which adds to the work.

The finish

A traditional cement render, a coloured-through acrylic, a texture coating and a hand-burnished Venetian plaster are different amounts of material and labour — the finish you choose moves the price.

Height & access

Single storey at ground level is straightforward. Second storeys, tight side accesses and anything needing scaffolding take longer and cost more to do safely.

Condition & repairs

Cracks, blown render, damp or uneven walls need putting right first. A sound wall renders faster than one that needs repair.

Detailing

Feature bands, mouldings, control joints, window reveals and corners all add finishing time compared with a plain flat wall.

Getting value

Where the value is

The cheapest quote is rarely the best value. Render is only as good as the prep and the coats underneath it, and a finish that fails in two years costs far more than one done properly once. A coloured-through acrylic that never needs painting, or a texture coat that refreshes sound walls without a full re-render, are both ways to spend sensibly.

Dino will always tell you honestly whether a full render, a texture refresh or a repair is the right spend for your place — not just quote the biggest job.

Cost FAQ

Rendering cost — common questions

How much does it cost to render a house in Adelaide?

It depends on the size of the home, the substrate, the finish and access, so every job is quoted individually. Rendering is generally priced per square metre of wall, then adjusted for prep, height and any repairs. Dino gives you an accurate written quote for free after seeing the job.

Is rendering charged per square metre?

Usually, yes — square metres of wall is the starting point, then the price is adjusted for the substrate, the finish you choose, access and any repairs needed.

Does acrylic render cost more than cement render?

Acrylic finishes often sit above a plain cement render because of the material and the coloured-through, no-paint-needed benefit — but the total depends on the whole job. We’ll price the options so you can compare.

Do you charge for a quote?

No. On-site quotes are free and there’s no obligation. You get an accurate written price for the actual walls, not a guess.

Is it cheaper to texture coat than to re-render?

Often, yes — if the existing render or paint is sound, a texture coating goes over the top to refresh it without stripping back to brick, which usually costs less than a full re-render.
