Acrylic render is render made with acrylic polymers, which make the finished surface more elastic than plain sand and cement, so it copes better with small movement in the wall.

Does acrylic render crack?

It can, but it copes with small movement better than plain cement render because the polymers let it flex. Acrylic finishes can bridge hairline shrinkage cracks, but no render can bridge cracks caused by the building itself moving. Movement joints in the wall need to keep working, with the render stopping at them rather than running over the top, and joins in lightweight panels need mesh. Not usually, but it depends on the system. Acrylic render goes on in coats and the last coat carries the colour: some systems finish with a through-coloured render or texture, while others finish with a coloured membrane top coat that’s part of the system. Is acrylic render waterproof?

Not on its own: it’s water resistant rather than a waterproofing membrane. Used as a full system with its top coat, acrylic render resists rain and keeps water out of the wall while letting moisture vapour escape. It isn’t made for areas that stay damp or sit under water, which need proper waterproofing instead.
